The trap with a rolling allowance

People check the end of a trip because that feels like the risky bit. With a rolling window it often is not. Old days keep falling off the back as the trip runs, so the tightest point can be the first week rather than the last.

This checker walks day by day through the whole planned stay, adds up everything inside the window on each of those days, and reports the worst one. If that day breaks the rule, it tells you the latest departure date that would not.

Common questions

Why check the whole trip and not just the last day?

Because a rolling window can be at its tightest in the middle of a long stay, not at the end. Days you took months ago drop off as the trip goes on, so the worst day is often somewhere in the middle. This tool checks every day of the planned trip and reports the worst one.

What is the latest safe departure date?

The last day you could leave and still be inside your allowance for the whole trip. If your planned trip goes over, shortening it to end on that date brings it back inside the rule.

Can I use this for somewhere other than Schengen?

Yes. Set your own allowance and window. Most short-stay rules are written the same way, as a number of days inside a longer period, so the same maths applies. Rules based on a calendar year or on each separate entry work differently and this tool will not model them.

Does an overstay of one or two days matter?

It can. Some border forces treat a short overstay as a warning, others record it, and a record can affect future entries or visa applications. Treat the allowance as a hard limit rather than a target to shave.
